3. Cellular Jail

The origin of the name ‘cellular’ was due to individual cells for prisoner’s confinement. The jail was constructed in 1906, but became damaged later on. It is an interesting place to visit, as this island is known as land of volcano. The island is about 83 miles away from Port Blair. The experience would be different, as the place is barren and deserted because of volcanic eruptions. So you obviously can’t set foot on it but view it from the boat.
