4 Winter Foods to Keep You Warm
It is only natural that we want to feel warm during the winter months. We wear warm clothes, we try to stay indoors as much as possible, we have a fire in the living room and we also crank up our heaters in the car and in our homes to stay warm and toasty. Another thing we do to stay warm during winter is to eat warm foods. However we have to understand that it is not eating warmed up foods or hot foods that would help us stay warm but eating foods that would warm us up from the inside that actually works in the winter. Here are some foods that you need to eat in the winter to help you stay warm.
1. Increase the fat intake
You would have notices that it is your feet and your hands that get too cold first. It is because you have less fat on your feet and fingers as compared to the rest of your body. If you want to stay warm during the winter months, you should add the fat content in your body. You can get this fat largely from meat and that should be in abundance during the winter and the holiday season.
2. Eat starchy foods
Eating starchy foods will also help you stay warm during the winter months. Potatoes, yams and brown rice are some of the foods that you can eat during the winter to help you stay warm. These are also active ingredients in most of the holiday meals and it shouldn’t be a problem to fill up on these.
