6. Intimacy issues
Some men are plain scared of having an intimate relationship. This might be due to the fact that they have gone through a bad childhood or have had some terrible emotional experiences with their family. This may lead to them developing a kind of fear in forming an intimate alliance with someone else.
7. Pressure overload
One reason why men are afraid to commit would also be that it is us who drive them to this consequence. How? That’s because sometimes we tend to go overboard with pressurizing men to commit. Instead of getting the desired outcome from men – that is, to commit – we drive them away from us. It is this pressure that irks them.
8. Compromising concerns
Marriage brings along responsibility as well as its share of compromises, and both men and women have to survive through it. This means there should be sharing, caring, and an equal amount of basically everything. But men are a bit uncomfortable with compromising their freedom, time, TV time and so on.
9. ‘Growing up’ dilemma
Some men have issues growing up too. By this we mean, that they want to remain boys forever. They want to have their share of fun, without any responsibility or tension. But commitment usually means they are all ‘grown up’ and have to take important decisions about life and so on. They don’t take this fact quite well and hence they are afraid to commit.
