5 Ways to Guess If Your Teenager has a Drug Problem
4. Disappearing money and jewelry
When the drug habit spirals and their allowance does not let them buy as much as they want to, they will resort to stealing money or jewelry from the house. Keep track of the money that you leave in the house and also make sure that your valuable jewelry or their laptops and other expensive items are accounted for once you start getting suspicious.
5. Change in attitude
They can either get pretty violent or withdraw into themselves when they are into drugs. If a normally outgoing child goes into a shell or indulges in violent behavior that cannot be explained at all, then it could probably be the drugs.
Instead of losing your cool, talk to them and find out what is happening with them. Chances are that you will not get a straight answer, but be patient. If they do not want to listen to you, take them to someone or have someone they respect talk to them. Many a times, timely intervention and non-judgmental reaction from you can help them wean away from the drug habit.
