5 Ways to Decorate Your Bedroom on a Budget
If your bedroom is looking drab and uninviting, there are plenty of things you can do to spruce it up without breaking your wallet. In fact, many of these tricks are completely DIY and won’t cost a penny.
1. Dress up your windows
Window dressing can add elegance and character to your room, but it can also cost a fortune. Do it on your own by attaching curtain rods above your window, and choose a light fabric for the curtain. You don’t have to get expensive curtains fitted from a department store – visit a fabric store for the material. Attach the rods high up, near the ceiling, to create an illusion of long windows.
2. Pile on the pillows
In a bedroom you don’t have to worry about the centerpiece, because the bed is the centerpiece. The easiest way to make it more appealing to the eye is to cover it with pillows. Bright pillows, small pillows, extra pillows from the living room sofa – all are fair game. Pillows make a room inviting and comfy, and can add a tapestry of color as well.
3. Splurge on a nice mirror
If you want to spend a little on redecorating your bedroom without going full out on home improvement, spend it on a full length mirror. Hang it on the same side of the wall as your bed, and let it take up as much wall space as required. A mirror will make the room seem bigger, and add a touch of elegance.
