7 Ways to Deal with Your Child’s Bullying Coach
5. Speak to the coach privately
If you deem necessary, take an appointment with the coach in question and address the issue with him/her. Speak with him/her privately and try to find out a solution to the problem or situation.
6. Take other parents’ opinions
You should also consider taking the opinions of other parents in this regard. Sometimes if the coach is quite popular and is known for his/her field, he/she could have quite a support group and other parents could vouch for his/her credibility. Then, the case may be that only your child is being singled out for bullying. By discussing and taking other parents’ opinions regarding the issue, you will have an idea about how to go ahead to resolve this issue with surety.
7. Take a final decision
All said and done, you must always follow up to see whether things turn for the better, worse or nothing at all. If your child still faces similar problems with the coach in question, you should take a final decision as to whether you should approach higher authorities or just withdraw your child from the class or program.
But never let your child stop playing a sport or pursuing an athletic career just because he/she had a bad experience. Just because one coach was bad, does not mean all coaches are bad. Go ahead and enroll your child elsewhere, but do proper research this time, and teach your child how to counter any adverse situation or person in life.
