9 Ways to Break Free from Addiction to Unhealthy Relationships
6. Be selfish
Next time you get into a relationship, try to put your happiness first. Ask yourself, “does this man make me feel good about myself?” or “does he make me happy?” The onus is on you to be responsible for your own happiness. You need to respect yourself and make sure the one you fall for also gives you the respect that you deserve.
7. Have a support group
Cutting yourself off from family and friends is never a good idea, especially when you have the tendency to fall for people who are not good for you. Always make sure that there is someone that you can discuss your problems with. This way you will always be in touch with the reality of things and you will have someone for emotional comfort if you end up getting hurt again.
8. Master your mind
Talk to yourself. Try to build a strong will power so that every time you feel tempted to fall for someone, you analyze the complete picture. If you are mentally strong then a breakup will not hurt you as much. Also, you will be better prepared to handle pain.
9. Take a break
You need not move from one disastrous relationship to another. Similarly, you need not always be in a relationship to feel complete. Take a break and try being single for a while. This will give you some alone time to put things in perspective. You will also be able to clear your head and be sure of what exactly do you want in a guy.
