6 Ways to Avoid Anxiety in Life
4. Avoid unrealistic thoughts
When you are anxious, you have very unrealistic thoughts about people and the world around you. There may have been an insignificant incident – which could have triggered a response in you and your brain could have started making you think the various ways in which things could go wrong, which aggravates your anxiety. So, when anxious, try thinking logically rather than emotionally, because the latter will only lead to unrealistic thoughts, which will do you no good.
5. Just observe, don’t judge
Most of the times, our anxiousness is triggered by how we perceive situations and how we react to them. So, in order to avoid anxiousness (most of which is futile), just be an observer in situations instead of being a participant or sufferer. You should not let anxiety control your life and therefore, you should not judge or react to situations that do not concern you. Even if they do involve you, figure out if it makes any significant difference to your life.
6. Get busy
Last but not the least, you should get busy when you feel that anxiety is taking over. Instead of allowing anxiety to play with your mind, carry on with your daily activities as though nothing has happened. It is only how you react to it that makes the issue something momentous or negligible. So do the things that you would normally do instead of obsessing about how bad you feel. This will help you from keeping your mind off thoughts that could lead to anxiety.
