4. They may lose respect
The slightly older kids would often lose all their respect towards their parents. They may even go to the extent of boldly accusing or abusing their parents for ruining their life. Many kids become the butt of all jokes at school when their parents separate and this can be extremely humiliating for the child. Hence, the child takes out all this anger on his or her parents.

While all the above effects can be dangerous for the child, taking up the dark path can be the worst. The dark path basically consists of things which your child may do in order to fight back with the situation that he has been forcefully placed into. This may include drug abuse, alcohol abuse, sex abuse, getting associated with the wrong kind of people and committing crimes, or talking up on the emo culture.
