We love this airport because it is done up in a minimalistic way, not with overt gaudy grandeur. And everything is designed to be so convenient. The airport is in the middle of the city and the walk from the train station to the check-in counters is only a 100 meters. Now that’s what we call great planning.

Trust the Japanese to come up with such wacky ideas. Who’d think of building an airport on a 4 km long man-made island in the middle of the Osaka Bay? The Japanese would! This lovely airport opened in 1994. Did you know, it has 4-story terminals? They’re some of the longest ones in the world.
