Top 5 Advantages Of A Live-In Relationship
Patty, 26 and Jim, 25, have recently graduated and work in 9 to 5 jobs. They have also recently decided to take their relationship to the next level by moving in together. Read on to know what Patty had to say about the benefits of being in a live-in relationship.
1. Get to know your partner before tying the knot
“Think of your live-in relationship as a cooling off period that you get when you buy a product. This is a nice advantage because you can get to know your partner extremely well before you finally tie the knot and settle down for life with them”, said Patty. This advantage of being in a live-in relationship is hard to ignore because it is better to know the person thoroughly rather than getting married and later finding out a flaw in their nature.
2. Division of chores
“I hate to be so corny about this being an advantage of being in a live-in relationship, but it’s a fact. Jim and I divide the household chores which make it great for both of us to find spare and extra time in our lives”, chuckled Patty. We never looked at being in a live-in relationship from this perspective, but now that Patty has mentioned this advantage, we think it would actually be great to have someone around all the time to share household chores, don’t you think?
3. Less sense of responsibility
Being in a live-in relationship means that you take up as much responsibility as you would in a marriage, but it’s just that mentally you’re not under the constant pressure. “Jim and I totally look out for each other in all aspects of our lives, very similar to a married couple. But since we’ve not tied the knot legally, we’re not bogged down with the kind of responsibility that applies to married couples”, explained Patty.
