6. What are your achievements?
When you ask an interviewee about his/her achievements, you are necessarily asking him/her to recall the past experiences and talk about what he/she thinks is something worthwhile. The candidate is most likely to talk about his/her contributions in his/her previous job or in case of a fresher, any award he/she might have won in competitions or contests.
7. What do you expect from this job?
You should ask about the candidates’ expectations from the job because you will realize what exactly they are looking for and whether the job you are offering is indeed going to be fruitful for them or not and whether it will give them job satisfaction.
8. What are your hobbies?
You must ask about the candidates’ hobbies because you get an insight as to what kind of activities they are interested in. You may ask follow-up question to see how sincere they are when they say they like doing something. This is because some people might try to come up with hobbies just to impress you. This also tests the honesty and knowledge of a candidate.
9. Are you ready to be posted in another city?
This is a very important question and irrespective of whether the job you are offering requires an employee to travel to another city or not, you should ask this because it shows the open-mindedness of a candidate. A candidate with a more liberal mindset is always better than one who is parochial.
10. Can you tell us something about your family?
When you ask a candidate to talk about his/her family, you essentially check how much a family person the candidate is. The way one talks about his/her family members shows how he/she will behave in a team and what kind of relationship he/she will develop with other team members.
Apart from these, you must also ask about the salary expectations of every interviewee, but remember that salary should never be a constraint for the right and suitable candidate.
