6 Tips to Take Control of Your Relationship
In a relationship, it is rarely the case that both the partners have equal power. Most of the times, one partner ends up having the control in a relationship and more often than not, it is the men who seem to be in charge. We give you some of the ways in which you can take control of your relationship.
1. Be selfish
Just know that it is okay to be selfish at times in your life. If you start putting yourself first in a relationship, then it can help you take charge. This is not to say that you become indifferent to others’ feelings and emotions. All that is required is that you become aware of things that make you happy and devote some time to yourself. Only when you are happy can you hope to give joys to others.
2. Express your feelings
You cannot hope to take control of things in your relationship unless you let your partner know of your feelings. If there is anything that bothers you in your relationship, have the courage to talk it out. Raise your voice against things that seem unfair and unjustified to you. If you simply keep procrastinating about all that is wrong in the relationship, then it will not help at all. Make an effort to discuss things.
3. Do not let him take you for granted
If you feel that you are being taken for granted in a relationship, then you are the one who can do something to change this situation. You can take a temporary break from each other and stop all contact. Doing this for about a week will make the other person realize how important you are to him. Another thing that you can do is let your guy know that you are not solely dependent on him for your happiness.
