5 Tips to Escape Embarrassing Situations
4. Apologize and leave
In a professional setup, if you’ve made some kind of embarrassing mistake or error in an important meeting or presentation, then it’s best to apologize and leave. That apology is considered more respectful, than standing there and trying to correct or justify what you’ve done or how it happened.
5. Talk about the other person
When you desperately need people to stop laughing or staring at you, just talk about your friend, or whoever is closest to you. So if you’re at a party where a lot of wine falls on your shirt and people are laughing, look at your friend, and say, ‘You find this funny? Remember that time when you fell in horse poop?’ And that will lead people to be distracted and have more stories to listen to, than just concentrate on you. Mind you, this works in a light-hearted setup only!
Don’t worry when embarrassment comes knocking at your door. If life is giving you lemons today, you’ll be enjoying lemonade on someone else’s expense tomorrow! Just relax, try to forget what happened, and move on!
