8 Tips to Cope With Hair Loss
Losing your hair, especially when you are young, can be a very traumatic experience. It may negatively affect your confidence and your perception about yourself. We give you some of the ways in which you can cope with the stress of hair loss.
1. Understand the cause
There can be many reasons behind hair loss. Before you start panicking, you need to understand why you are losing hair. It could be temporary or chronic. See a doctor who would be able to tell you the reason behind the problem. Many a times something as simple as switching to a different shampoo could stop the hair loss.
2. Accept it
Once you are aware of why you are losing hair, it becomes extremely important that you accept the situation. The sooner you start the process of acceptance, the easier it will be for you to start the healing process.
3. Have a support group
Interacting with those who are going through the same problem and are having similar emotional issues will give you a lot of strength. You will get to know that you are not the only one trying to cope with hair loss.
4. Do not equate your self-worth with hair loss
Do not make the mistake of equating your self-worth with your hair. Your hair do not determine your self-worth. Always remember that people are too busy worrying about their own appearance to notice your hair fall. And, if you find people ridiculing you or making fun of you, then they are not worth paying attention to. You have to be responsible for your own happiness.
