The sunscreen does not really stop the sunlight from affecting your skin, but in reality delays the amount of time your skin takes to get burnt in the sunlight. Not everyone has the same skin type and hence different SPF should be used on different people. Here are some tips on how to choose the SPF for Sunscreen.
1. Consult your dermatologist
Before you get an over the counter sunscreen and apply it everywhere, consult a dermatologist to find out which SPF would suit your skin and which product you should be using as you may be allergic to some of the ingredients in the sunscreen.
2. Pick a sunscreen based on your skin type
If your skin is really sensitive, you should go for a sunscreen with a higher SPF. Also if you have a lighter skin or a pale skin, you may have to opt for a sunscreen in the range of 45-60.
