4. Keep your children at home

Do not go grocery shopping with your child. Most manufacturers these days pick up on kids as their target audience and add attractive cartoon characters on the package or maybe give free gifts. They do this because they are aware that the kids these days can force their parents to purchase whatever they want. Sadly, most such products contain ingredients which are neither healthy for you, nor your kids. Hence, it is best to leave them home while grocery shopping.

5. Be a miser

We all know that being a miser isn’t socially acceptable. But for healthy living, it is important to be a miser at times. Try to have minimum excess food which your family might have to finish later – in other words, don’t buy excessive and/or high calorie foods. For the sake of courtesy, you have to indulge in those food items when you have guests. At this time, however, ensure that you limit your grocery shopping to the exact number of guests who will be coming home.
