5 Things to Do If Your Child Hates Learning
Are you worried because your child loves just anything except learning? Tried many ways but still finding it difficult to make them learn? No wonder you lose your temper. But, remember that will never help the situation. You need to be patient and show them the right direction. Check out 5 things to do if your child hates learning.
1. Know your child’s interests
One thing parents have to do is to be open towards the interests of their children. Be it singing, dancing, solving riddles or even enjoying sports, understand what interests them and encourage them to read or find more information in that domain. You can also help them in this endeavor by getting more interesting information about the same. This type of encouragement with a mix of creativity can shift their focus towards learning gradually. So, start with their interests.
2. Read with them
If your child finds reading or learning as a boring activity, try shared reading. You may take turns and read a book with your child. After reading, each one of you should summarize. Such collective experience could make learning interesting.
3. Have a creative approach
Creativity can make learning more interesting. Only bookish knowledge will not make them imaginative. They need to be let free and explore more. If they are interested in science, try making some models or doing some practical experiments along with them. Take them to museums or encourage them to watch more TV shows on science. If they love arts, get them graphic books or read out stories or again take up role-plays and make it more interesting. One good example here is to take up the concept of Angry Birds to make them interested in physics.
