6. Take the oil out
Wait for the crackling sound to stop before you remove the container from the microwave. You can let the container inside the microwave for a while.
7. Make sure that the oil is not too hot.
Let the oil simmer down a little. You do not want oil that is too hot as it will cause burns when spilled or applied too hot on your scalp.
8. Apply the mix gently on your scalp
Start applying the hair on your scalp. Start with the roots of your hair and go down till the tips. Make sure the scalp as well as the hair is uniformly well oiled. Massage your scalp for a while and also run your fingers through your hair so the oil is spread out evenly.
9. Leave the oil mix on for an hour or more and cover it with a shower cap.
If you cannot spare an hour or more and want to do it quick, take a heated towel and wrap it around your hair for at least 20 minutes. This is important as the oil has to get soaked up by your hair and your scalp.
10. Wash your hair well
Use a mild shampoo and rinse your hair well so you do not have the sticky feeling of the oil mixture on your hair.
11. Dry it well and style it
Dry your hair well after you wash it. Try not to use an iron or a dryer immediately after a hot oil treatment as it will spoil the whole purpose of the treatment.
