5 Signs You’re Ready to Get Engaged
When you’ve been in a relationship for sometime, it is natural for you to think whether it is time for you to get engaged or not. The question of whether to take the relationship to the next level or not will pop-up at every big occasion where you feel really happy with your partner – completion of a year or two years or more, your or his birthday, that perfect New Year’s Eve and other such occasions. Just when you start to feel absolutely comfortable with your partner and think you’re settled, your brain and heart make you think hard about engagement. Here are a few signs that give you the confidence and assurance that you are indeed ready to get engaged.
1. You both are serious about a future together
Before anything else, this thing counts the most. It is really important that both of you are serious about each other, and want to spend the rest of your lives together. When you have realized and accepted this fact, you might as well take a step closer to that journey you’ve planned together.
2. You’re handling each other right
Compatibility does not necessarily mean that you and your partner have the same tastes on everything, and that you and your partner have similar likes and dislikes. It also means that you have agreed very calmly to disagree on a few things, and yet have a sense of respect for each other’s opinions and way of life. When that point of calmness, peace and settlement comes into the relationship, it means that you are ready to get engaged.
3. Both the families are okay with it
Most people these days do not take their parents’ opinions seriously, thinking that it’s their life and they have to choose their partner wisely on their own. However, it’s always nice to know that your parents (and even his) are just happy with the general idea of you getting engaged. It’s not that you are seeking their consent. It’s only to know that they are happy with this step you are about to take in your life. And their happiness is also like a reassurance that you’ve indeed made the right choice!
