9 Signs You Are Being Selfish in Your Marriage
6. You emotionally blackmail him
Communication is the only way an argument or conflict of interest in a relationship can be sorted. Some women and even some men commit the mistake of emotionally blackmailing their partners to adjust. They may even give in to the blackmails but not without resenting or being annoyed about the whole thing. Classic examples of blackmails include denying sex, the silent treatment and neglecting the other.
7. You don’t empathize
Every individual during a trying situation desires to be empathized. Belittling or ignoring the individual’s genuine feelings and troubles is one of the most selfish things anyone can do. And if you are doing this to your partner, life can get very difficult.
8. You do not respect your partner’s interests
You have some interests and you’d love it when your partner shows pleasure in sharing your excitement. In that case, the reverse should also be true. You should learn to respect and enjoy your partner’s interests as well. Instead, when you show clear displeasure, laziness to even attempt to like it or feel restless instantly, you are being overly selfish.
9. You spend recklessly
You save each and every penny of yours. But when the money comes from your husband’s wallet, you spend recklessly. Should something be said about this situation at all? You are selfish.
Selfishness in a relationship prevents it from growing gracefully and seeing happy days. Some amount of selfishness may be inevitable. But you will be pleasantly surprised to know that selfless acts can give you more than you expect.
