6 Recycling Tips for the Home

4. Make your own gift wrapping paper

Instead of buying wrapping papers, satins and laces, you could experiment with old newspapers with glossy supplements or if you’re giving presents to children, the comic section in your newspaper can work as bright and colorful wrappers.

5. Use take-out plastic lids to prevent furniture stains

The take-out container plastic lids can be placed under your oil can or greasy bottles that leave stains on your furniture. You don’t have to scrub off ringlets of grease from your kitchen table and shelves then.

6. Use old milk cartons to plant seedlings

Tear the bottom of the carton and fill it with soil and seed for initial planting. The carton box protects the plant from insects and weather condition. Once the plant starts growing and you re-pot it in a pot, the carton need not be thrown out as it will degrade inside.
