He also paid a tribute to Barcelona in his beautiful film ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona’. A lot of filmmakers have made films on France, and especially Paris, but the way he showed Paris in his film ‘Midnight in Paris’, is something no one could ever do or can match up to. He made us jump forward and backward in time and we were totally smitten by both the worlds. He can genuinely make any city come alive.
7. He experiments and yet keeps the simplicity intact
His movies talk about some of the most current sociological and philosophical themes. Yet, they are so simple. He breaks the fourth wall. His characters often talk to the camera or to the audience, and yet, it never looks jarring because he does this in a simple fashion. He uses cinema in his own unique way, and tells the most beautiful tales which stay with us forever.

He is not the kind of filmmaker who relies much on form. His films are about the content. He tells them in the simplest fashion. He mostly uses simple camera work and his direction is mostly about choreography. He makes the space dynamic, even when the camera is static most of the times. That is his beauty! He is a true filmmaker who experiments, and yet, remains classical with his filmmaking. He is a strange blend of old and new.

As mentioned earlier, he really knows how to make fun of everyone, including himself. He does not take anyone that seriously. He believes in the fact that life is miserable, and the only way to deal with it is with humor. In order to do so, he has managed to very well make fun of the principles he believes in, and has done full justice to it. He makes fun of the intellectuals. He makes fun of the wannabe intellectuals. He makes fun of the indecisive people. He also makes fun of people who are uncertain. In all this madness, he surely makes a dig at himself!
10. His movies are timeless
No matter how old he becomes or how old his work becomes, his movies still remain true to the current times. He spoke about issues and themes that are timeless and will make anyone relate with them. His films can be enjoyed by people from any generation.
It is impossible to hate Woody Allen’s work. He has managed to win so many hearts with his films, and the process has been so simple. He does not think very highly of himself. He is a hardworking filmmaker who has dedicated his whole life to his passion, and that is exactly what makes him so great.
