The projection of women in the American media has also played a negative factor in the presidential race. Women have mostly played a glamorous role in the media and somehow that does not sit well with the American public who want their president to be a highly respected, formal person.
5. America needs a lot of catching up to do
After so many years, Obama became the first Black president. If it took so long for the country to elect a Black person, it would definitely take even longer to elect a woman and in such a scenario, America still has a lot of catching up to do with other countries which have elected women as presidents.
The election of Obama opened up a lot of doors and generated much hope in the people wanting a change. It is to be seen if this would translate to a woman occupying the most powerful position in the country.
