When you are a single mother, the kid takes up most of your life. The kid’s needs usually come before your needs and you sacrifice a lot at the cost of your mental health. The single mother cannot really go out on dates as often without feeling guilty about the kid and she also has to explain herself to the date why she is so stressed. She also has to wonder about the impact her dates would cause on the emotionally fragile and vulnerable kid. Caught between her desires and the needs of the kid, the single mother usually ends up losing.
4. She tries and loses her battle to be the father and the mother
She constantly strives to provide and make up for the missing father. Instead of playing their roles to perfection, most single mothers also try to take up the role of the father and this is where the problem starts. Kids however immature they are can also understand surprisingly. And the sooner they are made to realize that they are growing up with their mothers and that the dad wouldn’t be around, the better.
