As much as we talk about an equal and just society where women can do whatever they want to, we have to admit that we do set some very different rules for girls and boys as they are growing up. This conditioning that they are subjected to early on in life also makes them to mature faster than boys. As regrettable as it is, boys get to enjoy their childhood a little longer as girls are let and allowed to do. Even if it is not natural all the way, it so happens that social conditioning makes girls mature faster than boys.
4. The expectation to behave
It also has been a social custom for long to expect girls to start behaving more appropriately when they are younger as compared to boys. It is only the last century that gave women the right to vote and many other things. Years of social impositions and traditions have also ensured that girls are expected to mature faster and they do so.
The society also has some sexist practices when it comes to the toys for children. Boys are generally associated with trucks and Legos while girls play with dolls. Little kids are also gifted based on this. When girls play with dolls and are gifted them since an early age, they tend to act like their mothers and in a way become more mature than their age.
