We are so very flooded with information, news and trivia about the British royals right from their birth till death, that at one point, we become attached to the royal family and in our mind and connect with them like an extended family or relatives of sorts. We wish they get married to someone, we feel sad when there is a death or mishap in their family and even go to the extent of rooting for them when they enter into any kind of contest and so on.
5. Constant media reiteration
The most significant reason why we are so obsessed with the British royals is that the media is constantly reiterating the same piece of information in several ways and ensuring that we know it by heart even if we don’t watch one news program or read one article about them. This constant media reiteration is responsible for the kind of obsession we are talking about.
6. Emblematic happy ending
Everyone wants their dreams to be fulfilled, without considering the consequences. Everyone has a wish which may be weird but at some points in life, those are the things that appear to be the only solutions to all of life’s troubles. These wishes are like winning the lottery, becoming a film star and so on. But the British royals are already blessed with most of what we aspire for and therefore anything they do or accomplish work as symbolic wish fulfillment for us and therefore we are so interested in their lives and what they are up to at any given time. The idea of having a happy ending for oneself, even emblematically, drives many to obsession when it comes to the British royals.
