He played a quirky physiatrist in the movie. His role was a tad different from his earlier movies. But, the difference was in acceptance. His role in the movie got him an Oscar award. This movie was truly close to his heart. And, yes even close to people who liked Williams a lot. This was a truly deserving award for his role and his performance on the whole.
5. The fisher king
Another great performance by Williams that made him stand out. He portrayed the role of a man who is deeply hurt by the sad demise of his wife. But, he takes this to be otherwise, in a funny way. So in a way, he got to play two characters in the movie. One of a sad man whose deeply hurt and second of a man who is funny. Hats off to him for performing so brilliantly in the movie! No one could have pulled the role like Robin Williams in the movie.
6. Hook
Robin Williams was always known for his roles which were a tad different. In the movie Hook, he played an adult lost in the innocent world of Children. His depiction of character was superb. In fact, no one else could play the role better than William did. He was truly a class apart.
