What is the problem with online relationships?
The major trouble here is the very issue that made you confide in that person, anonymity. You have never met that person, you are not sure about the authenticity of the information provided by him/her. A full-fledged relationship should not be established until and unless you are sure of everything.
Is it cheating?
In case, you already have a partner and you are indulging into an online relationship, it will not really be called cheating unless your real relationship remains unaffected. But, if it is hampering your actual ‘real’ relationship, then it should be a wake up call.
Therefore, online friendship or an online relationship is fine, or at least can not be considered as cheating, unless it is affecting someone’s emotions or sentiments or hampering someone’s life. You need to be able to differentiate between what is good and is bad for you.
