How To Make Your Toddler Cooperate With You?
Well, you would think over it once you read this conversation.
Mom picks up the diaper and holds it like a puppet. She makes it talk in a silly, sqeaky voice.
Mom, dubbing as the puppet: “Hi Marc! I am Doodle diaper! Come here and play with me!”
Marc runs to the diaper and says, “Hi!”
Mom, dubbing as the puppet: “How about a nice hug?”
Marc giggles and hugs the diaper.
Mom, dubbing as the puppet: “Lie here next to me. Right here. Yup. Can I go on you? Oh yes?! Goody goody goody!
The diaper chats with Marc while it’s being changed.
Mom, dubbing as the puppet: “Oh,Marc! Listen, I hear your shoes calling you, Marc Marc!”
The most amazing thing about this trick is, it works over and over again. You may think if your toddler would honestly fall for this again? But the answer is, “Yes, he/she will!” The best thing is, it gets you in a good mood and you have fun time with your child.
So, if you want your toddler/preschooler to cooperate with you, try to make situations playful. Hop to the car like a bunny, or pretend to eat a carrot that gives you special power.
It’s delightful to see how a potentially negative situation can be turned into a fun experience by changing your child’s focus to fun and fantasy.
