How to Love Yourself Unconditionally?
5. Forgive your mistakes
It is inhuman not to make mistakes and nobody is an exception to this. You will make mistakes, you are bound to make mistakes but, what is important here is to accept your mistakes and forgive yourself. No one is asking you to not feel guilty. Maybe, you should feel guilty for the wrongs you have committed but don’t let your mistakes seize your life. Learn to forgive yourself, it will be hard and will take time. Don’t be too harsh on yourself; no mistake is bigger than you. If your mistakes are swallowing your self-love, let forgiveness come to your rescue.
6. Accept your faults
You were born with some faults and then there were some faults which you chose for yourself. Don’t be ashamed of them. Don’t let them be a reason to stop loving yourself. Accept them to get rid of them. You might be one of those people who will love and respect yourself more if you can overcome your faults. And for that to happen, you need to first identify your faults, accept them and only then you can start working on them. Just the thought of improving your faults will make you feel better about yourself.
7. Accept the fact, not everyone will like you
Don’t judge yourself based on judgments made by others. Not everyone will like you. So should you lose self-confidence because of this? Have you liked all the people you have come across in your life? Would you want people you have disliked to lose self-respect because of what you think of them? Then why should you stop liking or loving yourself based on opinions of others who might not even know you well.
Loving yourself is important to make the most of what life has to offer you. It will lead to a positive change in the way you look at things. Last but not the least, it is important to love yourself to receive happiness. After all, happiness comes from within.
