How To Baby Proof Your Home?
11.Heavy Objects
Heavy objects should never be kept atop a place that is not far from the reach of children. For instance, if something heavy is kept atop a table, one pull of the table will ensure that it comes tumbling down, thus hurting the baby. Heavy objects should be preferably stored somewhere higher or lower down wherein the baby does not have access to it.
12.Potentially Hazardous Objects
Toxic objects, medicines, cosmetics, chemicals, cleaners, etc. which are objects of potential hazard should be stored away in a place where the baby cannot reach it. Babies have a tendency to put things in their mouth and if something of this sort is consumed, the situation can be similar to poisoning. Thus, wherever these are being stored they should have a child stopper or a complex latch that the baby has difficulty in accessing.
13.Windows
Windows should be preferably shut when a baby is in the house. Babies can easily tumble out of windows if the right care is not taken. Ensure that the window is latched up or shut at all times when the baby starts crawling or walking. Child stoppers are again a good option for restricting the baby from opening the latch of the window.
14.Fire Extinguisher and First Aid Box
Always keep a fire extinguisher and a first aid box handy. The first aid box should contain first aid for you as well as the baby. Make sure you stock medicines that the baby may need in case of common ailments. It is a good idea to consult a doctor before you prepare a first aid box.
15.Constant Attention
The last but not the least is constant attention. A baby is extremely curious and loves to play with things and make new discoveries. Thus, you need to give your full attention to the baby so that it does not hurt himself/herself. Remember that even a minute is too much for an accident to occur and your presence can avoid some nasty and regrettable incidents.
Thus, the arrival of a new member in the family is very exciting, but it can get tedious too. So gear up and then enjoy in the bliss that parenthood has to offer.
