Highs And Lows Of Amy Winehouse
- Soon Amy Winehouse’s struggle with her addictions came to the fore. Her battles with substance abuse greatly attracted the attention of the media.
- She found it extremely difficult to deal with her alcohol issues particularly vodka, and drugs. She needed to consume alcohol even while performing. This terrible habit of Amy often let to her concerts getting cancelled at the last minute.
- She would cause harm to herself. She was suffering from acute depression. Amy Winehouse even faced eating disorders and was diagnosed as a manic depressive. But she refused to take medication for it. She wanted to overcome her addictions on her own. In spite of trying several times, she failed and would give in to her addictions.
- During 2007, Amy was admitted in the hospital because of overdose of alcohol, heroin, ecstasy and other drugs.
- Her violent mood swings would go beyond control. Her addictions also got her in legal trouble. In the year 2008, Amy slapped a man during a strident night out and was warned by the police for her behavior. After two years, she was again found guilty because of assaulting a theater manager who asked her family to leave a Christmas show because Amy was too drunk.
- In 2008, a tabloid newspaper published a video of Amy smoking up crack cocaine. Following this video, Amy was investigated by the police.
- On two separate occasions, Amy was hospitalized for injuries caused due to fainting, falling and hurting herself at home.
All of the above mentioned facts just prove that unlike most of us perceive, celebs are just as human as us. In spite of being blessed with a number of talents, they too possess their own insecurities and weaknesses. Unfortunately Amy Winehouse wasn’t able to hold any longer against the pressures of the world.
