Help Your Child Deal With Imaginary Friends
Another great suggestion we have for dealing with imaginary friends is to help your child make new friends. Who knows, your child might be talking to his/her imaginary friend only because they haven’t found the right company in the real world? Rachel confirmed this. “Stephie finally let go of Poppy. She found a great companion in Rody, her art class playmate. We were so relieved!”
Imaginary friends may exist because of a purpose. It’s a child’s outlet. If the parents have had a fight, and the child doesn’t know how to react, he/she may start looking for comfort by talking to their imaginary friend. Or if the child has just had a sibling and doesn’t know how to react to mixed feelings, they may start sobbing in the arms of their imaginary friends.
You don’t have to go berserk treating your child of his/her imaginary friends. Start dealing with the situation when it starts getting out of hand.
