6 Excellent Low Calorie Snacks
4. Snacks as comfort food
After a hard day’s work, when you just want to relax at home, or maybe when you’re feeling very gloomy and depressed or illness has brought you low, remember the foods you loved as a child. Something as basic as a soup, chicken, tomato, sweet and sour, minestrone, any will do. Curl up in your favorite chair, put on some music and sip your soup with a toast or crackers. Nutritious and filling, this is a healthy way to eat. For dessert you can slice an apple and eat it with a little cheese.
5. Catering to your sweet tooth snacks
When you’ve grown up on a surfeit of goodies like candies, ice pops, doughnuts and cakes, your sweet tooth will certainly have cravings. Now, since all the above foods are tasty but certainly not nutritional, what do you snack on? Well, you can try nibbling on sweet fruits like water melon, grapefruit, oranges and strawberries. If these don’t satisfy your cravings, become innovative. Make juice using fruits in a blender and freeze them into ice-lollies. No pain, lots of gain!
6. When you’re not able to sleep and feel like having a snack
Sometimes you toss and turn in bed, and are unable to sleep. Maybe having a small snack can help you. At such times, while the best and most nutritious beverage is a glass of warm milk or cocoa, you can snack on some oat and berries. If you would rather have something sweet, you can munch on a granola bar.
There is really nothing to stop you from attaining a healthy heart and body except for a little will power and a lot of won’t power. It really is true, that following a healthy diet will bring out a more agile, healthy and fitter you. So go for it!
