Dos and Don’ts for Acne-Prone Skin
If you are regularly facing outbreaks of acne on your face, neck and back, then there is high possibility that you have acne-prone skin. Acne can affect people of all races and it mainly starts during adolescence when the human body attains puberty. Although there are many treatments for acne, in order to prevent recurrence of acne, you must take certain precautions and must follow certain guidelines for the benefit of your skin. So here is a list of a few do’s and don’ts for acne-prone skin.
Dos for acne prone skin
1. Make a habit of keeping your skin clean most of the time and always wash your face before going to bed as the best time for your skin to heal naturally is during sleep.
2. Drink maximum amount of water.
3. Avoid exposing your skin to direct sunlight.
4. Before stepping out during the day, cover your skin with an oil-free sunscreen.
5. Avoid coming in contact with direct heat as it worsens the condition of acne.
6. Try to avoid pollution and humidity as far as possible.
7. If you have acne on your back, neck or chest then wear loose clothes and avoid wearing tight outfits.
8. If possible, avoid your skin from coming in contact with helmet straps, headbands or other similar things in order to minimize friction.
9. Use water-based cosmetic products and avoid wearing too much makeup.
