Are Spa Treatments Really Good Or Are They Just A Money Making Tool?
Can spa treatments be considered as alternative medicine? We’re not sure
“You know what Josey? Mrs. Spencer who stays next door went for a Paraffin wrap therapy and she claims to have lost a few kilos because of it. She said that the therapy helps to relieve excess water weight”, said Jessica, excited. “Jess, you clearly seem to be sold to what Mrs. Spencer told you. Many spa treatments claim to have many health benefits, but it’s really up to an individual to decide how much to believe in it. I think it would be alright to get a massage for joint and muscle relaxation, relief from headache, body pain or spasms. But not beyond that”, affirmed Josey.
Make sure the spas are hygienic, safe and licensed
Spas have been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. Water after every session is not changed, the same treatment tools are used for different customers and in worst case scenarios, even towels and
napkins are not sterilized. “That doesn’t mean every spa is the same”, Josey said. “But make sure the spa you chose has a good reputation by word of mouth. There are many spas out there that save costs on maintaining hygiene and make money out it. Beware of those.”
“So what have you finally decided, Jessica?”
“I think I’ll take a chance and visit my spa for a relaxing massage, if nothing else. As far as they’re not making money for dipping me in chocolate sauce or wrapping me with caviar, I think I’ll be good to
go.” “That’s a good decision Jess”, said Josey, laughing out loud. “Enjoy your massage. And make sure your masseur or spa therapist has a practicing license and is not some phony”. Jessica had decided to stick to sensible spa treatments that are not out there to slice your pockets. What about you?
