Yes and no. Yes, because people have been hearing a lot about it now. No, because cosmetic surgeons say that the procedure has been around for a long time and women have been getting hand lifts for years even before the ring selfie became a phenomenon.

Physically speaking, it does not come with any side effects as the fillers mostly consist of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the muscles and tissues of mammals. It also takes only about 15 minutes. Emotionally too, it is good if it gives women the confidence about their looks. It sometimes can be a little disturbing though, when a woman has to do such things to feel good about her.
Hand lifts have definitely become a trend although they are nothing new. This trend is largely due to the high exposure one gets because of the social media. Everyone’s expected to post a great picture of the engagement or the wedding ring and when a woman can spend thousands on the dress , hair and other things, spending a few thousand dollars on a hand lift isn’t much.
