1. Meryl Streep is one of the most honored actors till date at the Golden Globes because she has taken home a record eight trophies and a whopping 28 nominations as of 2012.
2. For over four decades, the most popular Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills has hosted the grand event every consecutive year after 1972.
3. One of the biggest controversies the awards have seen till date happened in 1981 when the New Star of the Year Award was given to Pia Zadora for her role in “Butterfly”. However, that year saw many other promising stars like Kathleen Turner and Elizabeth McGovern that were considered to have showcased better performances. Money and power were believed to have turned jury decisions. The Golden Globes were vulnerable to tarnished reputation in the subsequent years.
