11 Scariest Places on Earth
Well, if you are weak-hearted then we suggest you do not read the list we have. However, if you are someone who likes having a chill run down your spine, then read on to know about the scariest places on earth.
1. Hell Town
The name itself of this Northern part of Summit County in Ohio is scary enough! In the 70s, this was the site of a government buyout, which led to mass eviction of people. However, the plans didn’t work out. After evacuation, the town became a creepy sight. So much so that the Stanford Road drop off which is followed by a dead end, is called The End of the World. It is said that if you get stuck here for too long, you may die at the hands of an escaped mental patient, Satanists, Ku Klux Klan members, large snake, or mutants owing to a possible chemical spill.
2. The Skirrid Inn
Located in Llanfihangel Crucorney, Wales, this is one of the most haunted sites in England. Legend says that more than 180 people have hung themselves in this 900 year old inn. You might see faces in the windows or have glasses flying across the room. Guests who stay here feel as if they have nooses around their necks. You also might wake to an icy room even when the heating is on.
3. Stull Cemetery
Rumored to be one of the 7 gateways to Hell, this cemetery can surely give you the chills. This is what the book Weird US has to say about this place: “There are graveyards across America that go beyond merely being haunted and enter into the realm of the diabolical. They are places so terrifying that they say the devil himself holds courts with his worshippers there. The cemetery on Emmanuel Hill in Stull, Kansas, is one of these places.”
4. Fengdu, China
Fengdu is an abandoned city located on the north bank of the Yangtze River. It is said to be a junction point between Earth and the underworld where demons seize the unaware souls. All around the city you have freaky statues that show souls undergoing all sorts of tortures.
5. Humberstone and La Noria
These abandoned mining towns in Chile are so horrifying that people from the neighboring towns maintain their safe distance. You may find the dead of the La Noria cemetery walking around the town at night or have images of ghosts in photographs taken in Humberstone. If that isn’t creepy enough, the cemetery of La Noria has open graves with bodies that are fully exposed.
6. La Isla De La Munecas, Mexico
Around half a century ago, Don Julian Santana lived a hermit-like life on one of the islands on the canals south of Mexico City. Once while fishing, he found a corpse of a young girl. For his own protection, he began hanging dolls from the limbs of tree branches on the island. This continued for several years and now the place is full of ruined, broken, and weathered dolls. You might find a spider coming out of one of the dolls’ eyes without any warning.
