How To Make Your Birthday Party A Night To Remember
What comes to your mind when you think of birthday parties? Cakes? Gifts? Confetti? I think that the usual birthday parties have got too mundane these days. Don’t you think that something ‘different’ can be done to spice things up? Let’s take a look at 7 things you can do to jazz up your birthday party.
Keep your party ‘Finger-Food’ only
Besides having lots of fun and getting drunk, food is one of the most important elements in a birthday party. I suggest that you try having only ‘finger-food’ rule in your next birthday bash. And by finger food I mean really, really small portions. And to go one step further – have a theme going on. We were organizing a party for one of my closest girlfriends recently and we had an Asian theme going – just for the food. Little portions of spring rolls, sushi, small portions of meat including chicken, duck, and fish, and much more was on the menu. Big portions are a pain in the butt to handle. People will be all over the place to look for plates, spoons, and other items. Keep it simple, keep it fun – Finger-Food only!
Try impromptu costumes
Have you gone to a theme party? Have you dressed up in a costume to suit a theme? Boring! Jazz your party up with a surprise costume theme. Decide on a theme, go to your local shop and get many costumes. Put them in a box and surprise your guests. Ask all of them to change, no matter how ‘well’ they’ve dressed up for your party. Animal Kingdom, Psychedelic 70’s, Horror themes are some random themes that come to mind. If you really want to spice things up – try an adult theme! A nice way to say “Happy birthday, you sexy thing” don’t you think?
Go outdoors
Are you a big fan of the outdoors? Bored of picking a venue for your birthday? Feel like doing something different? I’d suggest you jazz up your birthday by planning something outdoor. This really depends on what your budget is, but some ideas are – renting a yacht, going on a cruise, go fishing, a paintball party, touring a winery, heading out on a pub crawl, heading out to the sea for fishing, or even going away on a nature trail for the weekend. Believe me, the feeling of heading outdoors on an occasion like a birthday is amazing. There are no deadlines, no worries about getting back to work, no urgency to reach home. Just make sure you’ve packed some drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) and some tasty food to bite on.
Bring a chef
Okay, this one is only for those who have the big bucks to spend. My cousin invited an expert sushi chef at her birthday party. His tricks and delicious sushi kept everyone entertained and satisfied. I suggest that you keep this idea only, and only if you plan on having a decent night. If you think that things are going to get wild and messy, avoid the chef – get a bartender instead.
