10 Activities to Build Self Esteem
People with low self-esteem just sleepwalk through life with drooping shoulders and a meek stance because they think themselves to be inferior to others. They do little and achieve even less. The ones with high self-esteem however are the achievers and go getters. The moral here is that if you don’t think highly of yourself, then how can you expect others will? So if you really want to cultivate high self-esteem within yourself, here are some activities to build self esteem that you can pursue.
1. Maintain a journal
This is not just an ordinary journal but one in which you write down at least one good thing you have done on that particular day. It can also contain all that you love in yourself and the qualities you are proud of. At the end of every month, you can go through all that you have written down.
2. Read a self help book
Glance through the ones on the bookshelf and pick out one that catches your attention. But don’t rush through the pages. Try to do the tasks mentioned there in all earnestness and make sure to implement what you read in real life.
3. Attend seminars
There are a lot many motivational speakers around the corner these days but some of them are really good. An hour attending such a gathering can be an eye-opening experience for you. And of course, try to follow what you learned.
4. Surround yourself with positivity
Your friends can have a great impact on you. Hence make sure to stay away from negative ones. Rather make friends with people who will cherish you for what you are and will always cheer you up when you are reeling under self-contempt.
5. Do some group activities
There are some group activities which you can try as well. For instance, if there are five of you, each can write ten good points about the other four and after the compiling the list, each person can read out what the others think are his strong points. This way, you will become aware of such strengths that you never thought you had and it will definitely help boost your self-esteem.
