10 Tips to Take Care of Damaged Hair
Damaged hair is a quintessential problem for everyone around the world. Hair fall, split ends, dandruff, lice, hair breakage constitute a part of damaged hair problems. Not always can hair be as smooth or as bad as the commercials show in before/after cases. Damaged hair needs good care, maintenance along with patience and time to look after it. A bad hair day can result in an agitated mood throughout the day. Our daily schedule may not permit us to take time off especially to heed to and nourish damaged hair. Though not regularly, remedies or precautions need to be taken at the least twice in a week. Here are a few tips to take care of damaged hair.
1. Before styling or drying your hair, always use a conditioner, preferably a leave-on conditioner. Make sure you wash your hair at least twice or thrice a week. Do not accumulate dirt on the scalp. It can lead to dirty scalps and rough, unmanageable hair.
2. A wiser option is washing your hair with a conditioner. Carefully apply the conditioner to your hair and little to the scalp. Rinse thoroughly and don’t let even a little amount of the conditioner remain on the scalp. Wash your hair and pat dry. This will give a silkier and smoother look.
3. Protect your hair from pollution. Always wear a scarf that covers your hair. Dust particles and harmful monoxide gases are one of the root causes for the texture of your hair to turn rough.
4. Get your hair trimmed once every 8 weeks. This will reduce the extra growth of hair and prevent split ends.
5. Olive oil and vinegar is a good combination to treat damaged hair. Apply olive oil to hair and leave it overnight. Wash your hair with vinegar first and then shampoo it like how you do regularly. Vinegar acts as a conditioner. So you need not use conditioner again after the wash. Vinegar helps in reducing dandruff too. Olive oil prevents hair fall to an extent.
