How to Reduce Pores On Skin?
Small openings of sweat glands, oil glands, and hair follicles are called skin pores and these appear larger when they are accumulated with oil. Pores tend to increase in size during puberty as this is the stage at which the oil glands pump out more oil through the pores. Genetic factors, improper skin care, and loss of skin elasticity due to aging also result in large pores. Left over makeup, clogging of dirt, and squeezing of pimples and blackheads may widen these pores. Washing, steaming, face masks, scrubs, moisturizers, toners, and exfoliation help reduce skin pores. Listed here are some steps to reduce pores.
1. Steam
Wash your face with cold water and steam your face over a bowl containing hot water for about 10 minutes. This will dislodge the dirt from the pores and restore your pores to their normal size.
2. Exfoliate your skin
Next exfoliate and clean these pores deeper with an exfoliate scrub. Scrubbing your face twice a week with a good quality scrub removes dead cells, black heads, white heads, and dirt from your face. You can also make a homemade scrub of powdered sugar and milk. The mixture of honey, lime juice, and sugar also serves as a good natural scrub that reduces skin pores. Gently massage the skin with the scrub for about 5 minutes and wash your face with lukewarm water to get a great feel.
3. Apply face masks
After exfoliation, always apply a face mask. This will help your skin reduce the size of widened skin pores. Applying masks on the face wipe away the excess oil from your face and help reduce the skin pores. You can use any mask that is available in the drug store. Clay masks and fruit masks like tomato and papaya do great wonders to your face as well.
