7 Tips to Take Care of Brittle Nails
Some women are blessed with those perfect nails that do not chip and break. But many women have brittle nails that split and crack easily. Brittle nails can be due to genetic causes, excessive manicure, harsh chemicals and detergents and inferior quality nail polishes. Here are a few tips to take care of brittle nails.
1. Keep your hands clean and wash them with an antiseptic soap. Use hand sanitizers while you are on the go.
2. Try to keep the areas around the nails moisturized and rub Vaseline or castor oil on and around your nails. Castor oil helps in softening nails. Mixing it with iodine would result in much softer cuticles and nails.
3. Mix some salt and teeth whitening powder in a bowl of lukewarm water and soak your fingers in it for ten to fifteen minutes. This would not only soften the nails but will also help to brighten them especially if they have a yellow tinge.
4. Wear latex or rubber gloves while doing the dishes, this will not only protect your nails from going brittle but will also ensure that your hands remain safe from the harmful chemicals in the detergents.
