10 Signs That You Should Quit Your Job

We tend to spend 90% of our time at work. More than our families and friends, it is our jobs that become an integral part of our lives. So unless we are doing the right job, we will perpetually be unhappy and unsatisfied in life. In spite of knowing this, many a times we end up making blunders in taking up jobs. Sometimes we believe that we have found a perfect job and later we realize, it was a mistake. We think we’ll manage to pull ourselves through our jobs even if we’re not happy, but in due course of time, it leads to frustration and depression. Here we present you with 10 signs that you should quit your job.

1. You’re not learning anything new

Life is a process of learning. In the absence of learning, life becomes really boring. If we want to make productive use of ourselves and want to succeed in the future, it is very important that this process of learning never stops. Money is not the only thing that is important when you’re working. The experiences you come across and the things that you learn is what will help you to advance in your future career. So, if your job is not teaching you anything new, it is better to quit it rather than to just waste your time.

2. Your job is exploiting you

Are you contributing way too much to your company than what your company is giving you in return? Are you made to work overtime and hardly given enough remuneration for it? Nothing is wrong in working hard for your company, but only if it is benefiting you as well. If you are not getting anything out of a job, it is no use doing it.

3. You are not happy

All jobs tend to get monotonous at some point in time. However, if you are absolutely sure that no matter what you do, you just can’t get yourself to like your job, it doesn’t make sense working there. Happiness and satisfaction are the most important qualities that drive a person to do anything. If your job doesn’t make you happy and doesn’t keep you satisfied, you will never be able to work efficiently. Neither the company nor will you be able to benefit in the long run.

4. You are not growing

Growth is vital wherever you work and whatever you do. If you want to be successful in your career, you will have to grow in your job. However, if the people you’re working for offer zero growth for your career and concentrate only on their company’s growth, it is not worth working for such a company, unless you’re in for charity.

5. Better opportunity

It is very important to keep your professional life and emotions separate. Don’t let sentiments get the better of you when you’re seriously working. If you get an offer for a job from a company that is more suitable for you, has greater opportunity for growth, pays better and you are sure that you will enjoy working there, don’t let it go, even if you are emotionally attached to your current company. If you want to advance in your career, grab every opportunity that comes your way.
