We all want to have good skin, which is clear and glowing. It is a known fact that bad skin can ruin the look of even the most stylish person, and that it leads to a lot of skin problems as well. On the other hand, those with good skin look naturally beautiful. However, with the kind of skin products and treatments that are available today in the market, many people don’t know what is right and what is not, and blindly follow convincing advertisements to buy products that may cause harmful effects later on. Is that the correct approach? Obviously, not! The right approach to having good, younger looking skin is to ensure that it gets the care and attention that it deserves, both internally, as well as externally. Here’s how to get younger looking skin.

1. Change in skin care habits

If you apply makeup everyday and sleep without washing it, then there is no point in complaining about bad skin, because you called for it. Similarly, if you don’t clean your face on a regular basis during the day, then you can’t complain about the pimples too. The first step to having good skin is to develop the right kind of skin care habits. This means that you need to ensure your skin is clean and clear at all times, so that dirt does not settle on it and does not give rise to acne, blackheads etc. This is even more important in the case of those who have an oily skin. Also ensure that you wash off your makeup every night before sleeping, to open up clogged pores. Invest in a good night cream or facial oil that can be used daily to replenish the skin’s moisture levels. Always use a clean towel to wipe your face, and do not keep pricking pimples.

2. Change in diet

Your skin totally reflects what you eat. If you want to have younger looking skin, ensure that you consume a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, so that your skin gets the required vitamins and minerals. This will ensure that your skin’s health is good, and that it remains tight and glowing, instead of becoming dull and wrinkled. You also need to drink a lot of water and fresh juices, so that the toxins are constantly flushed out of the body on a regular basis. That will help you to retain the glow of the skin by getting rid of impurities.

3. Avoid chemical exposure

These days, many people think that facials and chemical treatments at salons and other places is the best way to go about taking care of your skin. However, that’s not true. This is because not all kinds of chemical treatments suit all skin types, and in the long run lead to various side effects, some of which can be permanent in the form of marks, scars etc. Besides, too much chemical exposure causes the skin to wrinkle and the pores to open, making it look aged and dull. For the same reason, you must avoid using chemical based skin care products too, such as face washes; skin creams, lotions etc., and should instead go in for herbal or natural based products and cosmetics.
