9 Top Celebrity Mishaps on the Ramp
6. Monika Jagaciak
It is not easy when you fall down during a fashion show and stand on your feet again to complete the whole walk. Monika Jagaciak, the pretty model was dressed in a beautiful attire, but tripped very badly and fell on her backside during the Max Azria show in 2009. She was visibly quite hurt, but she made it a point to get up and complete the whole round with a smile on her face.
7. Elise Crombez
It was in the spring show of Proenza Schouler in 2007 that Elise Crombez had an unfortunate incident. The main culprits of this incident were again the dangerous high heels that she wore, which made her pitch forward and almost fall flat on her face. But somehow she managed to get up unhurt, and finished the walk with professionalism on her face.
8. Kamila W.
High heels have proven to be the main reason for most mishaps. Vivienne Westwood is known to give 9-inch platform heels for her shows, but it cut down her brownie points in her 2007 show. The British supermodel Kamila W. had to face the flak while tripping in Vivienne’s spring show of 2007. The high heels gave up on her and she fell on her face. Thankfully, she was not badly injured.
9. Carol Gracias
It was India’s most prestigious fashion show, the Lakme Fashion Week, held in Mumbai that faced the worst ever ramp mishap in the history of Indian fashion shows. Carol Gracias, one of the top Indian models was walking the ramp for Bennu Sehgall, when the strap of her gown tore showing off her nude front body in front of hundreds of cameramen and media persons. Carol, without stopping for a moment, covered her ‘assets’ and went ahead to complete the whole walk. Undoubtedly, it was the bravest thing to do!
These were some of the dangerous mishaps that have occurred in the history of fashion shows. Though, accidents keep on happening in every profession, especially glamor-related, one has to handle them gracefully and complete the given task. This is what makes them supermodels! Apart from that, designers too should understand that fashion cannot cross the boundaries of comfort, and they cannot risk their models’ health, safety and image in front of large audiences.
