6. Hooch
This giant and slobbery beast won many hearts when he starred in the 1989 film, “Turner and Hooch”. In the movie, he completely changes Scott Turner’s life while being the sole witness of a big case. As the film progresses, the bond between Turner (played by Tom Hanks) and Hooch gets stronger and stronger.
7. Rin Tin Tin
An orphan puppy saved by an American soldier during World War I, Rin Tin Tin starred in many silent features in the 1920s. The German Shepherd soon became one of the biggest stars in Hollywood history. “Rinty” starred in 19 movies before he died in 1932. In the 1940s, he was portrayed by his offspring on radio programs. The 50s and 80s saw Rin Tin Tin on T.V. series. In the year 2006, his film biography was completed.

Who can forget this female Cairn terrier and Dorothy’s famous best friend from the “Wizard of Oz?” The classic movie saw Toto following Dorothy down the yellow brick road. Such was the popularity of this character that you still can find many puppies named Toto. The real name of this 5-year-old terrier, was Terry. She was also used in over a dozen other movies.

The movie saw Bolt as a celebrity dog who stars in a Hollywood show. He believes he has superpowers and soon finds himself in a real-life adventure. As the movie draws to an end, the adorable pooch learns a valuable lesson- you do not always need superpowers to be a real hero.
