8 Tips to Tone Flabby Arms
When you see yourself in the mirror, do you always frown when you check out your flabby arms? Flabby arms could be because you are overweight, in which case you need to work hard to reduce your overall fat. Arms can get flabby and shapeless even when you have a normal weight, or even if you are slim. In that case they look really gross, and make it difficult for you to wear any outfit that reveals your arms.
Arms are a high maintenance part of your body. If you ignore arms, they’ll get back at you by bloating up beyond all sense. So make sure you include a couple of arm-toning exercises in your daily workout.
1. Dumbbells
One of the easiest exercises that you can perform at home for flabby arms is with dumbbells. This is a good way to get rid of that flab without spending lots of money on equipment or going to the gym. You can decide on how heavy you want the dumbbells to be. With the dumbbells in hand you need to put your arms straight up in the air. Then bend your arms behind your head and raise them up again. You can repeat this as many times as you can. It is a great way to tone up those arms at home.
2. Modified push ups
Pushups are great for strengthening and toning up muscles on your chest and arms. The modified push up is performed on the knees. Facing down, place your weight on your knees and hands. Keeping your back straight at all times, push up with your arms until they are fully extended. Then slowly lower your body until it almost touches the floor and repeat. If you’re up for an extra challenge, try 10 to 15 regular pushups.
3. Air boxing punches
Stand straight. Keep your feet shoulder-distance apart. Make fists with your arms, bend at the elbows and bring your fists to your chin like a boxer. Throw punches into the air straight ahead with as much energy as you can. Let your arms extend fully at shoulder level. Twist slightly at the waist for each punch. Make sure you don’t hurt your shoulders. Repeat it 20 times with both your arms, without slowing down and then punch upwards. Repeat this 20 times as well.
4. Bicep curls
Bicep curls are another great exercise that can help you tone up flabby arms. As the name suggests, bicep curls target the bicep muscles, which are located in front of the upper arm. Toning and strengthening these muscles makes your arms look great in dresses, tank tops and other revealing outfits. To perform a bicep curl properly, start by standing tall with a dumbbell in each hand. Make sure that your palms are facing away from your body. Carefully bend your elbows and bring your hands and the dumbbells up towards your shoulders.
